Students Can Stay Connected Through eMentoring

We are going virtual! In the spirit of safety and consistency for our students, staff and your valuable feedback we created an online/virtual version of our STARS Mentoring program - the STARS eMentoring Program. Over the past several months, we have been working with a virtual educational consultant, MENTOR Colorado and our program team to expand our curriculum and activities to meet the needs of students for a fun, engaging and educational online learning experience as we go virtual for at least the first semester.

As our districts, schools and communities prepare for the coming school year and its unique set of opportunities and challenges, we are excited to partner with our schools to help bridge the social and emotional connection and well-being gap to promote opportunities for interaction and learning among students.

One of the biggest obstacles facing teens today is how to have real deep meaningful connections with others in a digital world and how to positively cope with stressors and influences. We know that meeting these needs means that students are more engaged in school, have a higher level of confidence and are less likely to participate in unsafe or unhealthy activities. We also understand that while schools prepare to go virtual, there will be gaps in fulfilling these opportunities for connection and interaction. Our goal is to help our school partners navigate through these gaps so that teens can feel connected to their school, peers and learning.

Through the STARS eMentoring Program, students are able to strengthen their leadership abilities; discover and practice positive social and emotional skills around mental health, healthy relationships and decision-making; gain confidence; and feel valued. We believe this program provides the safe positive social and emotional interaction your students need now more than ever.
