FRIENDS FIRST is once again growing! We are pleased to welcome Lauren Slayman to our family as our new Evaluation Assistant.
After graduating from CSU in the winter of 2013, Lauren spent two years shuffling between food service and retail jobs but desperately wanted to find something more fulfilling. In an attempt to shake things up, she moved to Phnom Penh, Cambodia for six months in 2016. There, she volunteered with a safe house for sexually exploited children and realized that her calling was to work with underserved youth, whether at home or abroad.
She chose FRIENDS FIRST because she loves its commitment to empowering youth to build positive, successful futures, especially when those adolescents may otherwise feel disenfranchised. She loves seeing kids unlock their potential! As the Evaluation Assistant, she plans to compile and use program survey feedback to make future program adjustments to serve our teens as best as we possibly can.
