FRIENDS FIRST is excited to welcome Bilingual Program Coordinator Nacarid Silva.
Nacarid was born in Venezuela, and at the age of 10 she was given the rare opportunity to immigrate to the United States and live the American Dream. She was fortunate to have teachers and staff in the Denver Metro Area who spent extra time during this process and encouraged her to strive for excellence. It’s for this reason that Nacarid hopes to provide the same support to Mentors and Mentees at FRIENDS FIRST. At Western State Colorado University, she was elected Vice President of Student Government, served as a Peer Mentor and an intern at an advocacy center that focused on helping victims of sexual assault and domestic violence.
Nacarid chose FRIENDS FIRST because she was excited about the opportunity to be a role model for young adults, helping them achieve their goals. As a Bilingual Program Coordinator she plans to use her unique background, experiences and passion to serve those who need a helping hand.
