What brought you to FRIENDS FIRST?
Our executive director, Elycia, came to the school where I was teaching and asked about us having FRIENDS FIRST programs there. Several years later, when I was looking for a career change that would still allow me to work on behalf of teens, but not in a classroom setting, I saw a job posting at FRIENDS FIRST and called Elycia. Her excitement and encouragement convinced me to apply and the rest is history. I love my job and the mission of FRIENDS FIRST.
How has a mentor impacted your life?
By believing in me and encouraging me at a crucial time when I didn’t believe in myself. She recommended Sheryl Sandburg’s book “Lean In” and it was exactly what I needed at that time.
