HOW TO START A MENTOR PROGRAM

There are several recommended opportunities that FRIENDS FIRST offers that will better prepare you to start a mentoring program in your community. These options will allow you to get to know the STARS Mentoring Program as well as learn ways of how to introduce the program to your community. Some of these opportunities include:

• Gathering a group of teens and attend the STARS National Conference held in Colorado.
• Attend a STARS Mentor Program Training designed for teachers and/or community members who want to start a mentor program. Click here to see if there are any upcoming events near your community.
• Book FRIENDS FIRST and host your own STARS Mentoring Program Training in your own community.

By setting up a mentoring program in your community, you are becoming a part of many abstinence-only mentoring programs being established across the country.
